Description

Warm baked apples stuffed with creamy feta cheese, crunchy nuts, and a drizzle of honey for a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact, and place them in a baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix feta cheese, chopped nuts, black pepper, and thyme if using.
  4. Stuff each apple with the feta mixture.
  5. Drizzle honey and olive oil over the apples, then sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.
  6. Add 2–3 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until apples are tender but not collapsing.
  8. Serve warm, spooning any pan juices over the top.

Notes

  • Choose firm apples so they hold their shape while baking.
  • For extra sweetness, add a few raisins to the filling.
  • These can be served as a side dish or light dessert.
