Description
Juicy baked shrimp coated in a buttery garlic and Parmesan mixture, finished with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon. This quick and flavorful dish is perfect as an appetizer or light main course.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or sheet pan.
- Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the prepared dish.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the shrimp.
- In a separate bowl, combine Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs, then sprinkle evenly over the shrimp.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through.
- Broil for an additional 1–2 minutes if desired for a golden topping.
- Remove from oven, drizzle with lemon juice, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Do not overbake, as shrimp cook quickly and can become rubbery.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melting.
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
- You can substitute panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
