Description

Warm baked pears topped with creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, and tart dried cranberries make an elegant yet simple dessert or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 120 g goat cheese
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: chopped walnuts or pecans for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Place the pear halves cut-side up on a baking dish.
  3. Brush pears lightly with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and salt.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until pears are tender.
  5. Remove from oven and crumble goat cheese evenly over the pears.
  6. Drizzle honey over each pear half and sprinkle with dried cranberries.
  7. Return to the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese softens.
  8. Remove from oven, garnish with nuts if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Choose pears that are ripe but still firm.
  • This dish can be served as a dessert or a light appetizer.
  • Maple syrup can be used instead of honey if preferred.
