Description

Crispy, golden chicken bites tossed in a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce. This crowd-pleasing dish is perfect as an appetizer or served over rice for a flavorful meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions (optional garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dip chicken pieces into buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry chicken in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey.
  7. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes or air fry at 380°F for 12-15 minutes.
  • Adjust sriracha for preferred spice level.
  • Serve over rice or in tacos for variation.
