Description
Crispy, golden chicken bites tossed in a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce. This crowd-pleasing dish is perfect as an appetizer or served over rice for a flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp chopped green onions (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dip chicken pieces into buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey.
- Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a lighter version, bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes or air fry at 380°F for 12-15 minutes.
- Adjust sriracha for preferred spice level.
- Serve over rice or in tacos for variation.
