Description
A rich and creamy cheese and bacon cob loaf dip baked inside a crusty bread loaf, perfect for parties, gatherings, and sharing straight from the oven.
Ingredients
- 1 large cob loaf (round bread)
- 250 g cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cut the top off the cob loaf and hollow out the center, leaving thick sides.
- Cube the removed bread and set aside for dipping.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
- Spoon the mixture into the hollowed cob loaf.
- Wrap the loaf loosely in foil and place on a baking tray.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve hot with toasted bread cubes.
Notes
- Best served immediately while warm and creamy.
- You can add mozzarella for extra meltiness.
- Cover loosely to prevent the bread from over-browning.
