Description

A rich and creamy cheese and bacon cob loaf dip baked inside a crusty bread loaf, perfect for parties, gatherings, and sharing straight from the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cob loaf (round bread)
  • 250 g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cut the top off the cob loaf and hollow out the center, leaving thick sides.
  3. Cube the removed bread and set aside for dipping.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the hollowed cob loaf.
  6. Wrap the loaf loosely in foil and place on a baking tray.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve hot with toasted bread cubes.

Notes

  • Best served immediately while warm and creamy.
  • You can add mozzarella for extra meltiness.
  • Cover loosely to prevent the bread from over-browning.
