Description
Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are a crispy, golden appetizer filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic burger flavors all wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and fried to perfection. They’re a fun twist on a traditional cheeseburger, perfect for parties or game day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 egg roll wrappers
- 1 tablespoon water (for sealing)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Optional: diced pickles for filling
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
- Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of beef mixture into the center and top with shredded cheddar (and pickles if using).
- Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold in sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with water.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with dipping sauces.
Notes
- Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, brushing lightly with oil.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter option.
- Serve with ketchup, mustard, or special burger sauce.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in an oven or air fryer.
