Description

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are a crispy, golden appetizer filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic burger flavors all wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and fried to perfection. They’re a fun twist on a traditional cheeseburger, perfect for parties or game day.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon water (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Optional: diced pickles for filling

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
  4. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of beef mixture into the center and top with shredded cheddar (and pickles if using).
  5. Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold in sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with water.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, brushing lightly with oil.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Serve with ketchup, mustard, or special burger sauce.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in an oven or air fryer.
