Description

Cinnamon-vanilla custard pie is a smooth and creamy baked dessert with warm spice notes, set in a flaky crust for a comforting classic treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: ground nutmeg for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust into a pie dish and crimp the edges.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add eggs and whisk until smooth.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  7. Dot the surface with small pieces of butter.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  9. Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing.
  10. Sprinkle with nutmeg if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Allow the pie to cool fully to help the custard set.
  • Do not overbake to avoid curdling.
