Description
A classic creamy coleslaw made with crisp cabbage and carrots tossed in a tangy, slightly sweet dressing, perfect as a refreshing side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 cup purple cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 cup carrots, grated
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine green cabbage, purple cabbage, and grated carrots.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
- Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture.
- Toss well until evenly coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Stir again just before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use half mayonnaise and half Greek yogurt.
- Adjust sugar and vinegar to taste.
- Coleslaw tastes best chilled.
