Rich and savory mushrooms cooked with crispy bacon in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce, perfect as a side dish or low-carb main.
Ingredients
- 1 lb mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and sliced
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.
- Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.
- Add butter to the skillet, then add mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and mix well.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
- Serve over steak, chicken, or pasta, or enjoy on its own.
- Do not overcook the cream to prevent curdling.
