Description

Rich and savory mushrooms cooked with crispy bacon in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce, perfect as a side dish or low-carb main.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and sliced
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.
  2. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.
  3. Add butter to the skillet, then add mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and mix well.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
  • Serve over steak, chicken, or pasta, or enjoy on its own.
  • Do not overcook the cream to prevent curdling.
