Description

Creamy honey pepper chicken mac and cheese featuring tender seasoned chicken tossed in a sweet and peppery glaze, combined with rich, cheesy pasta for a comforting and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and add diced chicken. Season with black pepper and cook until heated through.
  3. Stir in honey and soy sauce, allowing the sauce to simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Add cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until cheese is fully melted and smooth.
  7. Fold cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Top mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken and gently stir or leave layered on top before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest sauce.
  • Adjust black pepper to taste for more heat.
  • Add steamed broccoli for extra texture and nutrition.
