Description
Classic crunchy Rice Krispies treats made with melted marshmallows and butter, resulting in a sweet, chewy, and satisfyingly crispy snack loved by all ages.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a square baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter completely.
- Add marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt if using.
- Quickly fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared dish and gently press into an even layer.
- Allow to cool and set for 30 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Do not overheat marshmallows to keep treats soft.
- Lightly butter your hands or spatula to prevent sticking.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
