Description

Classic crunchy Rice Krispies treats made with melted marshmallows and butter, resulting in a sweet, chewy, and satisfyingly crispy snack loved by all ages.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Grease a square baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter completely.
  3. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt if using.
  5. Quickly fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared dish and gently press into an even layer.
  7. Allow to cool and set for 30 minutes.
  8. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Do not overheat marshmallows to keep treats soft.
  • Lightly butter your hands or spatula to prevent sticking.
