Description
An easy dump-and-bake casserole made with tender meatballs, pasta, sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner with minimal prep.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) frozen meatballs
- 12 oz uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 2 1/2 cups water or beef broth
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Add uncooked pasta, frozen meatballs, marinara sauce, water or broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the baking dish.
- Stir gently to combine and ensure pasta is mostly submerged.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove foil, stir, and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly on top.
- Return to oven uncovered and bake for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Ensure pasta is fully covered with liquid for even cooking.
- Use halal meatballs if required.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
