Ingredients
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional, for extra smoothness)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for coating)
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, sprinkles, or melted chocolate drizzle
Instructions
- Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer (do not boil).
- Pour hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2–3 minutes.
- Add vanilla extract and butter (if using), then stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
- Scoop small portions and roll into balls using your hands.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or desired toppings.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
