Description
Giant chocolate chip cookies are oversized, bakery-style cookies with crisp edges and soft, gooey centers loaded with rich chocolate chips, perfect for sharing or indulging.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop large portions of dough (about 1/2 cup each) and place them well-spaced on the baking sheet.
- Gently flatten the tops slightly.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 20–30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Do not overbake to keep centers soft.
- Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking for extra flavor.
