Description
Lemon Butter Grilled Oysters are fresh oysters grilled to perfection and topped with a rich, zesty lemon garlic butter. Smoky, briny, and bright, they make an elegant appetizer for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 12 fresh oysters, scrubbed
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Place oysters on the grill, cup side down, and cook for 3–5 minutes until they begin to open.
- Carefully remove top shells using tongs and a knife.
- Spoon lemon butter mixture evenly over each oyster.
- Return oysters to the grill and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until butter is bubbling.
- Remove from grill and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Discard any oysters that do not open during grilling.
- Use a grill-safe tray or rock salt bed to keep oysters stable.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
- Best served immediately while hot.
