Description
Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, mashed potato cheese puffs are bite-sized snacks made with creamy mashed potatoes and melted cheese, perfect as an appetizer or party treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed potatoes (cold)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Breadcrumbs, for coating
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, flour, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Mix until a thick, uniform mixture forms.
- Scoop small portions and shape into bite-sized balls.
- Roll each ball in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 175°C (350°F).
- Fry the potato puffs in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Cold mashed potatoes work best for shaping.
- You can bake or air-fry the puffs for a lighter version.
- Add chopped herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
