Description

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, mashed potato cheese puffs are bite-sized snacks made with creamy mashed potatoes and melted cheese, perfect as an appetizer or party treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (cold)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • Breadcrumbs, for coating
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, flour, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Mix until a thick, uniform mixture forms.
  3. Scoop small portions and shape into bite-sized balls.
  4. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 175°C (350°F).
  6. Fry the potato puffs in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Cold mashed potatoes work best for shaping.
  • You can bake or air-fry the puffs for a lighter version.
