Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry orzo pasta
  • 4 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh herbs like basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Bring water or chicken broth to a boil in a medium pot over high heat. Add salt to the boiling water.
  2. Add the orzo pasta to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente, stirring occasionally.
  3. Drain the orzo pasta and return it to the pot.
  4. Stir in olive oil, butter (if using), and black pepper to taste.
