Ingredients
- 1 cup dry orzo pasta
- 4 cups water or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh herbs like basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring water or chicken broth to a boil in a medium pot over high heat. Add salt to the boiling water.
- Add the orzo pasta to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente, stirring occasionally.
- Drain the orzo pasta and return it to the pot.
- Stir in olive oil, butter (if using), and black pepper to taste.
- Optional: Toss in grated Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs for added flavor.
- Serve immediately as a side dish or with your favorite sauce.
