Description

Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 medium zucchini, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing dish)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Arrange alternating layers of potato and zucchini slices in the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Pour cream mixture evenly over the vegetables.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese and Parmesan over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 20–25 minutes until golden brown and tender.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Slice vegetables evenly for consistent cooking.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for cream.
- Add breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
- Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
