Ingredients
- 400 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups water or chicken broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice and cook it with water or broth according to package instructions.
- While the rice cooks, heat olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Drizzle lemon juice over the shrimp and remove from heat.
- Serve the shrimp over the cooked rice and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use brown rice for a higher-fiber option.
- Add vegetables like peas or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
