Description

A hearty one-pan skillet meal made with tender steak, seasoned rice, and melted cheese for a quick, satisfying dinner packed with savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add steak slices, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining olive oil to the skillet and sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
  4. Stir in rice and cook for 1 minute to lightly toast.
  5. Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  6. Simmer for 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Return steak to the skillet and stir gently.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly cooked steak for best tenderness.
  • Add mushrooms or corn for extra texture.
  • Best enjoyed immediately while cheese is melted.
