Description
A hearty one-pan skillet meal made with tender steak, seasoned rice, and melted cheese for a quick, satisfying dinner packed with savory flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add steak slices, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining olive oil to the skillet and sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
- Stir in rice and cook for 1 minute to lightly toast.
- Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer for 15–18 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Return steak to the skillet and stir gently.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Serve hot.

- Use freshly cooked steak for best tenderness.
- Add mushrooms or corn for extra texture.
- Best enjoyed immediately while cheese is melted.
