Description
Soft and tender steamed dumplings filled with a savory mixture of ground meat and vegetables, wrapped in delicate dumpling wrappers and steamed to perfection. A classic comfort dish served with dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 30 round dumpling wrappers
- 1 lb ground pork or chicken
- 1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Water for sealing wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
- Fold wrapper in half and pleat edges to seal tightly.
- Line a steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves.
- Arrange dumplings in the basket, leaving space between them.
- Steam over boiling water for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the steamer to prevent sticking.
- Ensure dumplings are sealed well to avoid leaking.
- Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) if using chicken.
- Uncooked dumplings can be frozen for up to 2 months.
