Description

Soft and tender steamed dumplings filled with a savory mixture of ground meat and vegetables, wrapped in delicate dumpling wrappers and steamed to perfection. A classic comfort dish served with dipping sauce.


Ingredients

  • 30 round dumpling wrappers
  • 1 lb ground pork or chicken
  • 1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Water for sealing wrappers


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  2. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
  3. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
  4. Fold wrapper in half and pleat edges to seal tightly.
  5. Line a steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves.
  6. Arrange dumplings in the basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Steam over boiling water for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
  8. Serve hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the steamer to prevent sticking.
  • Ensure dumplings are sealed well to avoid leaking.
  • Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) if using chicken.
  • Uncooked dumplings can be frozen for up to 2 months.
