Description

A classic beef stir-fry with broccoli featuring tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli tossed in a savory garlic soy sauce—quick, healthy, and better than takeout.

Ingredients

  • 400g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. Add beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add broccoli and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Return beef to the pan and pour in beef broth and oyster sauce.
  7. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  8. Drizzle with sesame oil and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.
  • Blanch broccoli briefly for softer texture if desired.
  • Use high heat for best stir-fry results.
  • Add chili sauce for extra spice.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
