Description
A classic beef stir-fry with broccoli featuring tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli tossed in a savory garlic soy sauce—quick, healthy, and better than takeout.
Ingredients
- 400g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the pan and pour in beef broth and oyster sauce.
- Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.

- Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.
- Blanch broccoli briefly for softer texture if desired.
- Use high heat for best stir-fry results.
