Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, sliced in half lengthwise
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
- Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the chicken is heated through and the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Freshly grated parmesan melts better and gives a smoother sauce.
- Serve with pasta, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
- Add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
