Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage (beef or chicken, sliced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup spinach (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits.
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return sausage to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.
- Add spinach if using and cook until wilted.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
