Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)


Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook chicken in batches for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  6. Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  7. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  9. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sticky and heated through.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
  11. Serve hot with rice or vegetables.
