Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook chicken in batches for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
- Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until sticky and heated through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
- Serve hot with rice or vegetables.
