Description
Garlic Butter Philly Cheesesteak Bowls are hearty low-carb bowls filled with juicy steak, sautéed peppers and onions, garlic butter mushrooms, and melted provolone cheese for all the classic cheesesteak flavors without the bread.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak or shaved beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season steak with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add steak and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter.
- Add garlic, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Cook for 6-8 minutes until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
- Return steak to the skillet and toss everything together.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot in bowls.
Notes
- Use ribeye steak for extra tenderness and flavor.
- Serve over cauliflower rice for a complete low-carb meal.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking steak.
- Add jalapeños for a spicy variation.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts best.
