Description

A quick and flavorful garlic butter shrimp and asparagus dish, sautéed to perfection with fresh garlic, butter, and a hint of lemon for a light yet satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add asparagus and sauté for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Return asparagus to the skillet and toss with shrimp.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and stir to combine.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp to keep them juicy and tender.
  • You can add a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, or on its own for a low-carb option.
  • Use fresh asparagus for best texture and taste.
