Description

A warm and savory ham and cheese melt layered with gooey melted cheese and finished with a sweet and tangy honey mustard glaze—perfect for a quick comfort meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread or sandwich rolls
  • 4 slices turkey ham or beef ham
  • 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix honey and Dijon mustard to make the glaze.
  2. Spread butter on the outside of the bread slices.
  3. Layer ham and cheese between the bread slices.
  4. Spread a little honey mustard glaze inside the sandwich.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook sandwiches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Press gently with a spatula to help melt the cheese.
  8. Remove from heat and brush extra honey mustard glaze over the top if desired.
  9. Slice and serve warm.
