Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parmesan, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Mix gently and form into small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, pour in tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Add sugar and chili flakes if using.
- Return meatballs to the sauce, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked.
- Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish with extra parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat to keep meatballs tender.
- You can use a mix of beef and lamb for extra flavor.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
