One-Pan Cheesy Summer Sausage Pasta is a creamy and comforting pasta dish loaded with smoky summer sausage, tender pasta, garlic, and melted cheese all cooked together in one pan for an easy dinner.
Ingredients
- 14 oz beef or turkey summer sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced summer sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.
- Stir in garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add pasta, chicken broth, milk, heavy cream, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for the creamiest texture.
- Rotini or shells also work well in this recipe.
- Add spinach or broccoli for extra vegetables.
- Do not overcook pasta to maintain texture.
