Description

One-Pan Cheesy Summer Sausage Pasta is a creamy and comforting pasta dish loaded with smoky summer sausage, tender pasta, garlic, and melted cheese all cooked together in one pan for an easy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz beef or turkey summer sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced summer sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add pasta, chicken broth, milk, heavy cream, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  6. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  7. Stir in cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the creamiest texture.
  • Rotini or shells also work well in this recipe.
