Description
A juicy and flavorful pan-seared steak cooked to perfection and finished with rich garlic butter for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 2.5 cm thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Remove steaks from the refrigerator 20–30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature.
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a heavy skillet over high heat and add olive oil.
- Place steaks in the hot pan and sear for 3–4 minutes without moving.
- Flip the steaks and cook another 3–4 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time as desired).
- Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan.
- Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steaks continuously for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with the remaining garlic butter from the pan.

- Letting the steak rest helps retain juices.
