Description

Crispy roasted broccoli tossed with garlic and fresh lemon for a bright, healthy, and flavorful side dish.


Ingredients

  • 500g broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Toss broccoli florets with olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
  3. Spread broccoli evenly on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Roast for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until tender and crispy on the edges.
  5. In the last 5 minutes, add minced garlic to the pan and toss lightly.
  6. Remove from oven and drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle lemon zest.
  7. Add parmesan cheese if using and toss to combine.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure crispiness.
  • Add garlic later to prevent burning.
  • Use fresh lemon for best flavor.
  • Parmesan adds richness but can be omitted for a lighter dish.
