Samoa Pie is a decadent dessert inspired by Samoa cookies, featuring a buttery crust layered with gooey caramel, toasted coconut, and rich chocolate for an indulgent sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 1 pre-baked pie crust
- 2 cups shredded sweetened coconut
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Spread shredded coconut on a baking sheet and toast for 5–8 minutes until golden, stirring occasionally.
- In a saucepan, combine caramel sauce, heavy cream, butter, and salt. Heat gently until smooth.
- Stir in toasted coconut and vanilla extract until well coated.
- Pour the coconut caramel mixture into the pre-baked pie crust and spread evenly.
- Let the pie cool and set for about 1 hour.
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the pie in a striped pattern.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use homemade or store-bought caramel sauce.
- Allow coconut to cool slightly before mixing to avoid thinning the caramel.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top.
