St. Patrick’s Day Green Sprinkle Donuts are soft, baked vanilla donuts topped with sweet green glaze and festive sprinkles. These easy homemade donuts come together quickly and are perfect for celebrating the holiday.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Green food coloring
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- Green sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Add a few drops of green food coloring and gently mix until desired shade is reached.
- Spoon or pipe batter into prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and a drop of green food coloring until smooth.
- Dip cooled donuts into glaze and immediately top with green sprinkles. Allow glaze to set before serving.
Notes
- If you don’t have a donut pan, use a muffin tin for donut-style muffins.
- Adjust milk in the glaze to reach desired thickness.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Add a hint of almond extract for extra flavor.
